Yassa Chicken

Made with nicely fried onions with delicious Ayoka spice and some lemon juice served with steamed white rice. Delicious tender chicken and lots of caramelized onions in a sweet, spicy, lemony sauce.

Attieke et Poisson Garba

Fried Tuna fish served with attieke. Attiéké (cassava semolina) and fried pieces of tuna with chopped onions, tomatoes and fresh peppers, sprinkled with cooking oil and seasoning powder (Cube Maggi).

Fataya (pastel)

Chicken or beef patties! Known as pastels, salmon fataya, or simply fatatya, these are delicious fish pies. The pastels are frequently accompanied by a spicy tomato sauce flavored with onions and garlic.

African cuisine is frequently, if not consistently, labeled as traditional by both continental Africans and those in the African Diaspora. Strikingly, it is uncommon to hear members of other ethnicities characterize their food in the same manner. It’s noteworthy that the term “traditional” traditionally implies adherence to long-standing customs or behaviors within a group or society. Consequently, being traditional suggests a conservative nature, aligning with the ways of a specific ethnic group.
